Rio International Book Fair Features Top Int’l Authors

The XVI Rio International Book Fair, held biannually, is known for gathering multitudes of fans who chase after their idols, such as the 2011 appearance by American pop singer Hilary Duff who attracted a massive crowd of fans to the book fair’s pavillions.

This year the fair will take place August 29 through September 8, and numerous well-know international guests are already confirmed, including bestselling author Cheryl Strayed, whose Oprah-endorsed book Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail, will be launched in Brazil this month, chick lit icons Nicholas Sparks and Emily Giffin, non-fiction bestsellers Percy Allan and James C. Hunter, as well as novelists Francine Prose and Mary Gabriel.
