Holiday Book Sales Booming, Up 65% Over Previous Week

Santa has been busy visiting bookshops buying up books for all the good little boys and girls this Christmas: the total sales in Brazil of the 100 PublishNews bestsellers from 5th to 11th December was 169,658 copies, up 65% from the 102,929 copies sold over the previous week, from 28th November to 4th December.

Year on year, however, the increase in sales is much less impressive, with sales up just 2% compared to the 166,584 copies sold between the 6th and 12th of December 2010.

Topping our list are As esganadas by Jo Soares, and Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson. The two books have been alternating in first and second place since the end of October.
