Sextante is the top-selling publishing house in Brazil, according to the PublishNews Brazil bestseller list. Although the company was founded in 1998, its first fiction title wasn’t released until 2004, when former editor Geraldo Jordão Pereira discovered Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code, even prior to its publication in the US.
Back then, it was not easy to convince his colleagues to publish the book, but today Sextante has no regrets. Now the company is paying tribute to Pereira’s legacy by launching Arqueiro, a new imprint for the company’s fiction list.
By the end of 2011, Arqueiro will have 15 titles and will gradually encompass all the company’s fiction titles, including William P. Young’s The Shack and Paulo Coelho’s oeuvre.
